"Ascension in the Moonlight" Response

I view Winchester’s theme in “Ascension in the Moonlight” as enjoying the moment for what it is. It’s hard to measure and appreciate the beauty of a moment until it’s passed, then it becomes nostalgia. The character’s descriptions are clear and benefits the reader understanding them. “The Reverend Paul Wilson, vicar of Saint Mary’s, wore an expression that morning of a sincerely concerned kindness” (Winchester 265) Winchester also uses very little dialogue, most of the story is narrative. I think this makes the reader see the experience through the eye’s of the narrator more than if constant interruption is occurs with dialogue.
