"Dolores de Pocha" Response
My question - How many of your works do you write in Spanish originally and how many in English? If you usually write in one language over the other, why?
As for the essay, I really enjoyed reading it. Including Spanish phrases allowed us, as readers, to empathize with you easier. It put us in the mindset of a bilingual person, rather than you just describing what it is to be bilingual. It's kind of like Uncle Charles Principal, narrating in a way in which the character being described would think.
