"Temptations of Two" Response
The Temptations of Two by Susan Fox Rogers is comparing the aspect of traveling alone to traveling with a partner. She travels the river alone, but it thinking about future trips with a friend, Emily, and is proud of herself for going outside of her comfort zone. Similar to Winchester’s writing, Rogers uses very little dialogue. Maybe travel writing requires more narration in order to capture everything that’s happening. Roger’s also uses a phrase I found very interesting - “expectation affection emerges”. Not only is the merit of the words interesting, but they are presented in a very unique combination.
