"Why We Travel" Response
The reason for travel that most resonated with me was how traveling gives a different-- more youthful-- perspective. I like how Iyer said he travels "to tap parts of myself generally obscured by chatter and routine" and how, by transporting ourselves into the unknown, "we are born again, and able to return at moments to a younger and a more open kind of self". For me, travel is refreshing because it forces me to be in the present, like I'm in survival mode (similar to a child trying to learn the world).
