"White Rabbit"

In Holly Keiths essay "White Rabbit" I believe the theme of the essay is that the trip is more about the journey it takes you on rather than all the other stuff that goes into planning a trip and all the things you do on it. In the beginning she talks about her snow shoes and how they are meaningless unless she has her body to walk in them.  I really enjoyed when she said "What you carry matters just as much as your ability to carry it" it really reminded me of the mental strength you need for a trip. you can have all the gear you need but if you dont have the mental strength to carry on its all meaningless. Lastly, i loved when she said "the hiking is the easy part, and the climb is the reward" and then she says "the reward varies, it could be silence" that painted a very beautiful scene in my head that all the struggles you went through were worth it when you are at the peak and its silent and you get to take it the beauty of the place you are.
